Changing or cancelling a service

To move a service to a higher or lower plan, or to cancel it, open a ticket in the PortWall portal naming the service, or write to sales. Cancel before the next due date to avoid another renewal. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it.

Changing to a different plan or edition

To move a service to another plan, for example a PortWall WAF licence to a higher edition or an appliance to more CPU cores, open a ticket in the portal naming the service and the plan you want, or write to [email protected]. Say whether an upgrade should apply now or at the next renewal. To switch a service between monthly and annual billing, ask the same way; annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10. An upgrade to a higher edition or a larger core licence during a billing period costs the difference between the old and the new price, prorated for the time left in that period; the new price applies from the next renewal. A move to a lower edition or a smaller core licence takes effect at the next renewal: the current plan stays until then, with no refund or credit for the rest of the period.

For PortWall WAF, your configuration is kept when the edition changes: a higher edition switches on its extra features with the settings you already made, and a lower one withholds them without deleting anything. See Choosing an edition.

Cancelling a service

  1. Sign in to https://portwall.net/billing/ and choose Support → Open New Support Ticket.
  2. Say which service to cancel (its product and server name, as in Services) and whether it should end now or at the end of the period you have paid for.
  3. Send the ticket. The team confirms in the ticket when the cancellation is done.

Cancel before the service's next due date, so no renewal invoice is raised for it. Cancelling a PortWall WAF licence ends it: the installation stops being licensed and stops blocking. Uninstall it from the server if you no longer use it; see Uninstall PortWall from Windows Server.

Refunds when you cancel

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in the product's terms. For PortWall WAF, annual plans are not refunded, in whole or in part, if cancelled before the end of the year. The terms for each product are linked from https://portwall.net/legal.html.

Closing your customer account

To close the whole account, cancel each service first, then ask in a ticket for the account to be closed. Invoices already issued stay on record as the law requires.
