LINUX · SELF-MANAGED GATEWAY · MULTI-TENANT

Your infrastructure.
Your security perimeter.

PortWall for Linux is an application security gateway for physical servers, virtual machines and cloud deployments. Run the appliance where you need it and license it by CPU cores.

THE GATEWAY MODEL

Multi-tenant security
on your infrastructure.

Designed for service providers and enterprises that want to operate their own security gateway instead of relying on a third-party cloud proxy.

✓

Deploy where you operate

Use supported physical, virtual or cloud infrastructure.

✓

Protect multiple tenants

Manage protected applications within a multi-tenant gateway model.

✓

License by CPU cores

Choose a licensed core allocation without relying on a universal requests-per-second promise.

HOW CORE LICENSING WORKS

Clear entitlements.
Flexible infrastructure.

Licensing limits the aggregate CPU capacity available to the licensed WAF data plane. Performance still depends on hardware, traffic mix and security configuration.

Licensed CPU allocation

Choose a core-count license. The WAF engine inspects traffic on exactly the number of cores your licence covers; the rest of the appliance uses every core.

  • Virtual machines and cloud instances: counted in vCPUs
  • Physical servers: counted in physical cores
  • Core upgrades: a larger licence takes effect within a minute, without a restart

Performance sizing guidance

A core count is a licensing unit, not a universal throughput guarantee. Ask us for sizing guidance for your traffic.

  • Requests per second and TLS handshakes you expect at peak
  • Request sizes, uploads and API traffic
  • How many sites and tenants share the appliance
Pricing model:

Infrastructure costs are separate unless a written offer says otherwise. The customer pays their cloud or hardware provider; the PortWall license covers the software entitlements stated in the selected plan.
